Welcome Aboard the Sailing Vessel Rhapsody

Check out our Cape Dory Rendezvous, Onset, MA page

Rhapsody

Rhapsody is a 1984 Cape Dory 25D.

She is berthed at Apple Gate Marina on Kerr Lake, Oklahoma (35 21 86n - 94 49 50w). Kerr Lake is a pool elevation lake for the Arkansas River (McClellan/Kerr Navigation System) which affords outlet to the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico.

Cape Dory Yachts were constructed in Taunton, MA but are no longer in production. They are quality built vessels with a fine tradition of quality and seaworthiness. Also, the above link to the California Cape Dory Owners Association provides owners and would be owners with a vast array of information.  A very fine bulletin board indeed!

Meet Rhapsody's crew on her maiden voyage November 1, 1997! They are Captain Bill, First mate Sandra, and swabbie Rainey (aka, Gilligan or RainMan). As you can tell (in the pic), twas a blustery day with winds gusting to 35 mph. What a great day on a new boat!

Follow the crew and Rhapsody (the tour is brief) through their summer travels and outings aboard this beautiful little vessel. I have added some pics from the July 4th weekend at the above link.

Well, alas summer is gone and fall has finally arrived! And boy oh boy were we ready for a break in the temperature. We've also gotten some sorely needed rain and everything has returned to a spring like state of green! (READ yes we have to mow the lawn again this year!!!) With school and work schedules being very hectic this time of year, up dates may fall behind, but, I hope to get some new pics soon (perhaps with fall color) and post them in the gallery. Along with fall sailing will be some much needed upgrades to Rhapsody. I'll list them later and provide progress reports as well.

Hope your fall sails are pleasant and joyful. Keep checking back for updates.

In addition to the links found on this page, I have added a Links page to which I will be posting the URL's of some of my favorite sites. While I doubt that any of them (sites) are great discoveries to most readers, some might be new to you. I'll try to keep the urls current, but if you find one that doesn't work, please notify me and I'll fix it possible. Also, you might want to visit the First Mate's Page and learn of her areas of interest. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back often.

Please Send Feedback Ahoy Rhapsody Drop us a note.
